Quarantine Package seems expensive

You could be denied entry if you don't plan on complying with the school's quarantine plan. you could also be fined. Schools could even penalize you if you are not following the quarantine plan. In order to come to Canada you had to agree to follow the school's quarantine plan. If people can't they should consider delaying their travels.

Please don’t spread rumours like denying enter and all stuff. They never said that. It all depends on DLI. If they allow you then you can quarantine at any other place provided you have quarantine plan with you. You may go through this link.

“If no other options are available, travellers may be referred to a designated quarantine facility as a last resort.” They never said that they would deny entry.

To come to Canada as an international student you must agree to follow the quarantine plan dictated by your school. CBSA can definitely refuse entry if you don't have a quarantine plan or the funds to pay for quarantine. The government is not allowing entry to international students for them to have paid government quarantine.

Not all universities are equal. My school actually offered a free hotel accomodation for 14 days (not including meals and transport). I am in Vancouver though and my school is not huge like UBC. At this point I just to be in the same timezone and feel okay overspending for these 2 weeks. Plus, I am bringing my cooking ware to Canada to minimize money spending on restaurant deliveries
