Dear All

Once COPR is issued and the Principal Applicant along-with sponsor (currently residing outside Canada) lands at the port of entry in Canada, is there a requirement to have a Proof of Funds. If so, what is the level of funds required and should these funds be in cash, Bank Draft or even a Bank Statement from the current bank account from where sponsor is moving and which can ultimately be transferred once bank account is opened in Canada.

Thanks

anything electronic ( like bank account savings, FD etc ) just needs a statement proof.
anything tangible like gold, cash etc needs a proof of withdrawal or receipts etc. don't panic and don't overthink. the border service agents are very helpful and they will not cause any issue for unnecessary stuff.

No, you do not have to show proof of funds. As mentioned you do have to declare any amount of cash over 10k CAD plus other valuables you are carrying. But it will not be a problem with CBSA that you are carrying it.

Hey everyone! quick update. (You can look at my signature for my timeline) my husband received pre-arrivals letter last week & we checked online and it says decision made. Do you know how long people have been waiting to hear back after getting “decision made” during covid? And how do they contact you? By email? Ecas? i feel like we are making process though thankfully!
