Yes, my DLI on the list of approved COVID-19 readiness plan. But does this reply indicates I have passed the first stage? So far I know 2 stage thing is gone and not applicable anymore. And if I had passed the first stage in any way they would defiantly email me informing the news.
One of my friends got a mail from CIC that he passed first-stage eligibility assessment a few days ago. It was very direct.
Since you applied before September 15, you are eligible for two stage processing. As they said, you got first stage approval which is AIP.

You need to give your biometrics, if possible. Short after you complete your biometrics and medical (if needed) you will receive your final approval.

Don't they email to inform first stage approval? How can I be sure? Do you know anyone who got this kind of mail?

Yes you should have received an e-mail or message in gckey regarding your application has advanced to the next stage of processing. I got that e-mail like many people in this forum.

If you didn't receive it, check your junk box. If you couldn't find, it's ok because they already told you that you have AIP now.

They sent it to me via email and I have a problem with that.
You've been sent one via GCKey and you've a problem with that.
This sums up how the world works.
I've been waiting for nearly 250 days, (which is more than 4 times your waiting time)
Dude, you should read the latest news and gather some useful inputs before posting, especially with such post titles.
Like seriously ??
And yeah those who get it via GCKey will get a rejection after 6 months.
Good Luck

I am sorry for bothering you again. I have been really confused about the email. I mailed them and asked them if it means that I have got the AIP, but they did not respond. I am even thinking about withdrawing my application as the situation is not improving. VFS in my country will not open anytime soon, and also, there is a risk that if I can not let my university know about my approval, they will eat 50% of the first-semester tuition fees which I have already paid. I have been very confused and not feeling positive about it at all.
And I have not received any update or any mail in my GCKey account regarding AIP. If I don't withdraw my application, that would be only based on your words.

Hello Ahmed,

I understand how you feel since I am in similar situation too.

In your first post, they already told you that you have AIP now. (with the sentence below)

"As previously stated, based on the preliminary eligibility assessment, your application has advanced to the next stage of processing. "

I don't know what is the situation of VFS in Bangladesh but I believe you should discuss the refund with your school. There is a pandemic going on and getting approval/refusal is out of your control. Some schools issues full refund, if your visa refused or they let you defer to next semester without anycharge.

If they are still insisting to forfeit 50% of your tuition, it will be a tought choice and unfortunately I cannot tell you exactly to withdraw or take risk&wait. It's all your decision.

Also, your school (I presume Trent University) is on the approved covid-19 list, so it means since you got AIP, IRCC only waiting your biometrics to finalize your application. You may try to travel another VFS in-service countries to provide biometrics but it would be still in unclear how you are going to send your passport if they request it afterwards.

Hello, beloved fellow students and respected seniors,

I have applied for a study permit in Canada on the 1st of September 2020. I have passed medical (Upfront) on the 24th of September 2020. Since then, I have not got a single update. I cannot do my biometric because VFS Bangladesh is closed (I applied from Bangladesh). It has been around 60 days, and I do not know what is going on with my application.
I emailed my concern via a webform, and the reply was nothing in particular. But recently I emailed the High Commission of Canada in Singapore, and got this reply;

"Thank you for your enquiry to the Migration Section of the High Commission of Canada in Singapore.

As previously stated, based on the preliminary eligibility assessment, your application has advanced to the next stage of processing. Additional information and documentation may be required in order to continue processing your application. If we previously requested that you complete biometrics and/or a medical examination and submit a police certificate, please do so as soon as you are able to. If you have not received a request from us for additional information or documents, please await further instructions.

Once we have received all requested information and documents, we will complete our assessment of your application and we will inform you of the final decision (approved or refused) made on your application, closer to your course start date."

I asked them what is the next process and let them know why I am unable to provide biometrics, but they don't seem to come up with something constructive.

I am anxious about this. If they reject me, then it can be sooner so that I can plan further with something else. Now I am stuck.

Is there anyone out there facing the same problem, or it's just me alone? Also, can anyone please explain to me with experience what this email means? Your help is appreciated.
What's your intake?
January or Fall?

60 days you say...

If I wait I will have to defer to next summer and no one knows if the situation gets better next summer 2021. Also to mention, there is a risk of losing my money (1st-semester tuition fees which is around 9000 CAD)

so what should I do?
Wait for the better situation to come and risk my time, efforts, and money OR
Withdraw and save my money and time, apply later when the situation gets better.
