Where was that posted on the IRCC site? That would be crazy fast. In the past, it's taken IRCC 45 to 60 days to hold the draw after the lottery closed.it was posted today around 1pm eastern that if we won the lottery we would get an email within 24 hours. anyone receive an email yet? The post was talking about confirmation emails for entry submissions. It was not to do with the actual lottery (which hasn't happened yet).it was posted today around 1pm eastern that if we won the lottery we would get an email within 24 hours. anyone receive an email yet? You can apply as a new PR as long as you meet the income requirements and can show three Canadian tax returns that show this income.Hey All,
Quickly checking, if the eligibility for applying for this Sponsorship for Parents/Grandparents are for PRs who's stayed in Canada for a xx period of time or is applicable for new PRs.. like 6 months to an 1 year olds?
The eligibility in the IRCC website only says the below- nothing about the tenure of stay as a PR in Canada:
You can sponsor your own parents and grandparents if:
- you’re at least 18 years old
- you live in Canada
- you’re a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
- you have enough money to support the persons you want to sponsor
- To show that you have enough, you’ll have to provide your proof of income.
Thanks a lot for the prompt reply Scylla! You can apply as a new PR as long as you meet the income requirements and can show three Canadian tax returns that show this income.
Funds are irrelevant. You have to meet the requirements through income reported in Canadian tax returns. Thanks a lot for the prompt reply Scylla!
Definitely meet the income requirement for sure but is like 6 months old or so in Canada.. hence yet to file & receive the Canadian Tax Returns. However, have proof of employment with Pay Stabs / Pay Slips for every month since migrated to Canada and can definitely show the proof of funds for the sponsorship. Will that work ? (if you may know)
You need the Tax returns for 2018 2019 and 2020.Thanks a lot for the prompt reply Scylla!

Which province do you live in?
Like I mentioned above, am only 6 months or so old here as a PR in Canada. So, have not yet filed for the "Canadian Taxes" yet. But have home country records of the taxes filed (which I don't think be relevant.. ) However, been in the same company as I am here in Canada back in home country. (if that matters to show consistency to income and tax filing... )You need the Tax returns for 2018 2019 and 2020.
Didnt you file your taxes in 2018 and 2019? You should have the NOAs by now.
You won't qualify for 3 more years to attempt to sponsor your parents.Like I mentioned above, am only 6 months or so old here as a PR in Canada. So, have not yet filed for the "Canadian Taxes" yet. If lucky to have received the invite to apply for this sponsorship, then was just trying to plan if by next year, I can have 2020's Tax returns.. So I'll have one for 2020.
Will that work? or is mandatory to have a past 3 year old "Canadian" Tax Returns ?
