i really dont know how they schedule the appointment. it seems everyone got a different answer about date of the earliest appointment available. a friend of mine got the call yesterday and he was able to book an appointment next monday in surrey
Yeah when I booked I wanted the nearest available appointment, anywhere. But they didn't even mention Surrey to me at all. Just glad I got the call so not thinking about it now, but I was a bit miffed I could have got it done this week already.

Any calls today? I'm so anxious as it seems like some New West folks have gotten calls and I haven't.

Hello Guyz,

Here is the reply I received for IRCC for the webform I submitted last Friday regarding not getting a call from Service Canada. It seems like they have not given my contact information to Service Canada for biometrics call. Please note that I have a dependent who is in India.

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The Government of Canada is closely monitoring the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on IRCC clients.

Service Canada has begun calling permanent residence (PR) applicants in Canada who have received a biometrics instruction letter and have not given their biometrics within the last 10 years to schedule their biometric collection appointment. Phone calls will be made by region and priority will be given based on the date the application was submitted to IRCC. There is no additional fee for this service.

Biometrics collection services are currently available only for PR applicants who have been contacted by a Service Canada officer and given an appointment.

Please do not visit a Service Canada office to give your biometrics unless you have an appointment scheduled by a Service Canada officer. If you miss your appointment for any reason, including because you have COVID-19 symptoms, a Service Canada officer will call you again to schedule a new appointment.

We want to assure you that you do not have to give your biometrics until you are able to get an appointment. Your application will not be refused or closed if you cannot give your biometrics due to COVID-19 closures.

We invite you to continue visiting the IRCC website regularly to obtain the latest updates. We thank you for your patience.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

@jasmin22 That generic response doesn't help much! I hope you receive a call soon!!
Hmm thanks. But I have a feeling that IRCC has not given my name to SC to call. My husband is in India and even his biometrics are pending bcoz application centers in India are closed. Moreover, IRCC is not finalizing apps with dependents outside Canada. So, I think I would have to wait for travel ban to be removed or to get my husband here on visitor visa first. :(
