Quick question to anyone with spouses in the Dominican Republic, about sending passport, its different from when I had to do it for my husband. Ok so finally my friends hubby got hiss PPR today and the VAC in Santo Domingo is closed. How is everyone sending passports now? She is completely confused and her husband has tried to call the VAC with no luck. anyone here with spouses in the DR who can enlighten me

Pre covid it took about 15 business days. He has to go to santo domingo to send his passport

apparently now you cant go there, my friends husband got PPR today and the letter says they are not open for in person..... they never answer the phone either ...... surprise surprise lol

this is a friends Husband and they had an appeal after a refusal in 2019, so i dont want you to compare to this situation. They applied in 2018

Haven’t got it yet I got email last Friday my visa had been affixed and valid until November 29 2020 day my extension of medical expired.

I got email from VFS this morning that they pick up my passport so I guess I’d coming back to me either tomorrow or next week I’ll let you know once I have it

Thanks a lot Mariana. My passport was picked up yesterday by the courier, I'll be waiting when yours arrives in your hands. Our idea is to buy tickets for the first week of December.

We didn't wait to have it in hands , , cause flight are filling super fast.... the time we knew it was on the return we booked.

When I got mine I had to mail the passport to the VAC in Santo Domingo along with some other documents they requested. I personally used DHL to mail it to Santo Domingo and they are using UPS to send it back,

RIGHT!! so much easier pre Covid when I did it. She figured it all out and its a gong show of a process, mail the forms, deposit money into the bank for the VAC... urgh. Im just so happy they finally are done with this process, they have been married a long time and refused for some stupid question the officer didnt like the answer to. Finally won the appeal after 30 minutes in front of a judge
