Will you be going down or he will be coming up by himself
Oh boy...I am an essential worker and have a full time job. I could never get enough time off work plus the expense to just fly down and come right back. Wish I could go spend a couple weeks since it will be awhile before we go back to visit. But then I would also need to quarantine here for another two weeks then have time to take him to get his SIN # and beginners drivers license. Problem is that he has never even been in an airport other then to drop me off let alone on an airplane and into a foreign country trying to make his way through immigration at Pearson. I don’t know what to do.

My understanding is that you will require a prior travel authorization that I believe you will have to apply for before you go and it takes 2-5 days maybe more to get approval to fly and you have to quarantine when you are there so wherever you stay you can’t leave to do anything. Also depending on when you travel...if it’s in November then Jamaica is launching a mandatory insurance program call Jamaica cares which will cost you around $40-$50

Sorry...that’s another reason I’m not going. I can’t quarantine there then have to quarantine here then need another week to take him to do important things so he can start looking for work. My boss is already pissy that I told her I would need at least 3 weeks maybe more. It the quarantine that’s the problem because you can’t leave the house to do anything.

It's not as bad as some make it seem. You have to download an app on your phone that tracks you or whatever. You can leave the house if you need to. But put phone on airplane mode. But obviously you should listen and stay inside as much as possible.

I went for 3 weeks in August. It was different with the curfew. Otherwise more time to spend with your significant other.

The online authorization is almost instant. You just have to do it within 5 days of your trip. Just Google online Authfor Jamaica and it should come up.

The app stuff is at the airport.
