Hi all,

i am reaching out for some help with LICO. I have been asked by a nomination officer to show that i meet LICO as my annual salary is $25,740 and LICO 2020 IS $25,921. Are there other ways to balance this out? as i feel this is very strict over a $181 difference that i can easily make up. if anyone would know of anything i can do in addition, do please let me know. Thanks all

Are you trying to sponsor someone? Your income level is too low to sponsor anyone. If you only have one parent alive that would make your family size 2 people.

In the winter, you can do cash jobs such as plowing snow for your neighbor to earn a little more!

Are you trying to sponsor someone? Your income level is too low to sponsor anyone. If you only have one parent alive that would make your family size 2 people.

Can I include savings from the past 12 months ? I have a lot saved in My regular savings and TFSA account

Are you sure they are asking about LICO and not POF? What does the message say exactly?

So the situation is I have already attached proof of funds that equate to $24,000 and My annual salary from my employer (Net) comes to about $25,720, with LICO(single person) being $25,920.

Their message reads as “$25,921 is the minimum necessary income for an individual. Your salary is $25,740/year. Please demonstrate that LICO has been met.”

I plan on calling them to get further clarification but this is the only information I have as of right now

This is for the Nova Scotia provincial skilled worker program. Yes it’s the province asking directly

Ok - in that case I think you may have a problem. They only consider income based on what I can see. You can't count your savings. Sorry, I don't know what to suggest. You may want to consult with an immigration lawyer.

Ok - in that case I think you may have a problem. They only consider income based on what I can see. You can't count your savings. Sorry, I don't know what to suggest. You may want to consult with an immigration lawyer.

Okay that’s very helpful. One more question, were I to include another source of income that takes me over the Line for LICO , do you think that would be accepted or my income has to be from my employer only

If you declared that income in your Canadian tax return, then I think you should be able to include it. But you should call them to confirm.

Do you mean interest income (or capital gain) you earned from the savings?
