@legalfalcon

So just to put mind to rest, how long maximum can IRCC take to complete criminality, pending action is the review of RCMP fingerprints and awaiting info from other countries. We have hit 12 months mark can it take 24 months? This is just to gauge the max IRCC can keep applications with them what if they don't receive info from other countries for another 18 months etc ...

There is no minimum or max that IRCC can take it all depends on the complexity of the applications. Some applications get stuck in enhanced security screening and keep pending for 2 years. In the most recent parliamentary oversight, CBSA has claimed that the time has been reduced considerably.

Have you called or send webform to see what the issue is and why it is pending. Is there any note in your GCMS?

Numerous Web forms sent, several GCMS notes ordered and recently MP involved, the summary is they have got all information and they are waiting for the officer to review RCMP info. What else can be done in this situation?

Yes,

Also, my spouse, all stages are completed i.e. eligibility, criminality etc etc

My eligibility and security both passed but criminality pending,

Our medicals expired last month!
Currently it seems that Ottawa VO is not working at all. This could be due to Ottawa being a red zone for covid. Usually Ottawa is the fastest. Unfortunately, you will have to wait to out.

Code red: Ottawa reaches highest level on pandemic scale https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/ottawa-public-health-red-status-1.5760593

It says Medicals not required, from the day 1. Nothing changed except for Biometrics date update.
That is strange. Have you sought any clarification from IRCC about this? You should call or raise a webform for this. There is no reason why medicals have never been requested/considered in your case.

Dear @legalfalcon,

I got my passport back with the stamped Visa and the COPR. In COPR it is written that ‘Not Valid for travel’. And the validity of my visa and the COPR is till 22/12/2020. I’m expecting to move there permanently by April next year. Shall I raise a web form now and inform this to IRCC and request for an extension.

Your response is highly appreciated as I’m bit worried about the COPR validity.

Thanks

Congrats on your PR visa. COPR is not a travel document, that's why it's boldly written on it. The travel document is the visa stamped on your passport. If you are unable to travel by the date stated on your visa, you can raise a web form to inform them but can't request for an extension yet. Whenever you are ready to travel, you need to raise another web form letting them know you're ready to travel. I might be wrong but I am yet to hear of anyone who couldn't travel due to COVID and whose COPR/PR visa expired, then raised a web form requesting for extension or indicating they are ready to travel and have gotten response from IRCC

When I call them they say except criminality nothing has started on my case and could not provide me any reason. They said, every case is different. I ordered GCMS notes, hoping to see something in it.

Congratulations!!

All COPR will have ‘Not Valid for travel’ written on it as COPR by itself cannot be used to travel. You will need a visa and passport.

If you cannot travel before 22/12/2020, then you can inform IRCC and seek extension. Send this in November.

Thank you very much for the reply. Will there be a chance of losing my PR after the expiry of COPR? Hope they will consider the current situation and give us more time. Really stressed now.

Due to COVID IRCC is granting extensions.

Hi everyone
Thanks you all for sharing information.
I just got my gcms notes today. I m not fully understand about all the parts of it. But as I can see in the assessment page 2 -3, criminality and security has not started yet. Once medical passed and now still in review. Can you please @legalfalcon tell what I can expect now. Which part I have to go through for better understanding the application stages.
As my AOR is November 8th 2019. Federal skilled trade program. I have been getting the same information for last 8-9 months, whenever I call IRCC. Same thing I found in my notes. Nothing changed..
thank you so much
