If you have already received the temporary AOR it means that your package has arrived, they already have it and have opened it, but they have not yet assigned an officer to handle your case. It's a relief, even though you can't check your status in GCkey, you can still check in ECAS
Yeah I tried the ECAS ample of times but in vain. Guess I'll just wait. Thanks for the comforting comment though.

It took me two weeks after receiving the AOR. But if your file number begins with two letters it means that it is a temporary number, you will receive another number later with which you can link to your account.
So we received bio fee reminder last week (app received Oct 1). On the letter is an application number F000######. What is this application number for? We haven't received the temporary file number letter yet (I've noticed usually arrives week 4-5 after app received and we're in week 3 only). in the bio fee letter, there is no explanation for what this application number is for. I thought maybe it was temporary file number but I've seen people say those start with 'XF'.

Yeah mine starts with XF.

This number is only for the control of the biometric fee reminder letter. I received it too and a month later we received the AOR with a different file number.

The truth is I don't know why some receive the FX number and others receive an F000 number in the biometric letter. But until you receive the AOR, the account cannot be linked.

Hi everyone,

I logged onto my GC key today and it showed that there was an update on my account but when I went to check on it, there was nothing there?

Has anyone had this happen to them before?

The website was also glitching out on me today, I don’t know if that was something to do with it maybe.

Thanks

An agent of IRCC has worked on your application in order to check if you have already given a biometric, if you have already gave a biometric in the last 10 years, so you will only see a ghost update, if not you will receive a biometric request

Thank you, that makes sense
