Does anyone know if their DLI will be on the list?

I see! My room wasn't kept empty but it still is empty now - so I got it again. I don't even understand why Dal is not on that list now. I am quarantining ins Residence and everything is organized... From food delivery's to possibilities to go get fresh air.

I hope your daughter will get the possibility to travel and "really" start uni soon. The only reason why I might get in and your daughter might not is that I have been in Canada for a longer time before.

Also is she taking online classes right now? Or is she just waiting since you said that her study permit isn't "officially" approved?
She's doing online now, she says about 2/3 in her classes are doing in person, the classes are all live so she sees those in the lecture rooms and those watching from afar. She would have lost her scholarship if she'd deferred. The only reason she isn't there is that she doesn't have her study permit approved officially so she cannot enter Canada at all currently, cannot even get on a plane to travel to Canada, despite the 7 page quarantine plan and the 4 page Letter of Support as to why Bishop's has chosen mainly physical classes. She had to drop her 2 obligatory physical only classes and is now behind schedule and has to cross fingers these 2 missed classes won't clash with other obligatory classes next Fall 2021 so she can catch up, she had to replace the missed classes with classes she might not have chosen otherwise but is enjoying the classes she subsituted.
Does anyone know if the old rules still count for the people that are traveling without their DLI on that list?
I am supposed to be flying to Canada Tuesday. However, my DLI won't be on that list until November.

Do the old rules count for me then? Like study permit before March 18th and proving that my travel is essential? Because that's what I have planed for. My study permit is from two years ago and I have enough reasons for essential travel.
No the rules change on Tuesday, you DLI must be on the list.

I thought they had come to an acceptance that covid-19 is gonna be with us for a while, and international education should not take a hit bcz of it, that's why the new visa changes.
Ohh okay I didn't know that but I STRONGLY AGREE with that. It's gonna be part of our live and we should all try to live with it - it's easy imo. That mask doesn't change anything and not shaking hands/social distancing is also not a big deal.

I am sorry. That's a lot of bad news. I hope she'll be able to come to Canada next term. As of right now it looks promising!

Understandable. I have one in-person lab and I have to do it online now. My entire class except me take the lab class on campus. Really wanna receive official study permit and travel to Canada to take the lab.

I was talking to myself, Haha, but I knew from one of my friend that his university, which is on the south shore of Montreal, got the plan approved. Don't know which source is more reliable.
Yeah totally. Maybe McGill isnt approved? I hope they approve it. McGill's one of the big Uni's in Canada so I hope that they should have readiness plan approved. Additionally the wording in the screenshot is a bit weird. This sentence: "Please note that Quebec may not be one of the provinces having amended travel restriction in place".

One can assume it to be that either a) the entire province of Quebec and it's DLIs will not be hosting international students a.k.a. COVID readiness plan was disapproved/rejected OR b) the entire province of Quebec and it's DLIs will follow the old guidelines.

Just waiting for the moment Quebec becomes it's own country lol. Kinda liked how the provinces at least somewhat all followed the same guidelines. Hope that stays like that. Germany is a mess. Each district has its own rules and no one knows what rules to follow where lol
