Yes . Because my lawyer said and she filed extension for my co worker. With nomination certificate only.

Hi,
Your work permit expire feb2021 ? If yes then you can wait until January 2021 . Just three weeks before you can apply for extension. Nomination expiring is not a problem. Still you have a huge time.
No worries.
