Hi all,

I was wondering if you can help me with understanding if I can study certificate in Canada, knowing that I finished my high school studies in 2006.

Are you an electrician or a dentist? Or you want to study to be an electrician. It is a licensed trade in Canada so you need to go to college and then be taken on as apprentice. It takes about 5 years as an apprentice so you really need PR to become licensed in Canada.

Apprenticeships aren’t available to anyone but PRs and citizens due to the length of time and the structure of study. Apprentices work for 10 months to accumulate the necessary time and experience to attend trade school for 2 months each year.
There are training courses that you can apply to that offer the equivalent of the hours necessary to meet the 1st or 2nd year hours, plus theory, but you still need to get a job to continue with the apprenticeship.

Can I apply to these courses from outside canada or with just a visitor visa? Or do I have to be a pr to apply for them?

I'm a dentist but I know that the process for dental licensing is both time consuming and expensive and I'm not sure if having WES evaluation only will help me to get the pr or not, so I'm ready to give up working as a dentist and start a new career to enter Canada.
