Hi guys! I'm Tanya and I've recently been admitted to the MSc International Business program at HEC Montreal for January 2021 intake. I got an email from my university that my program will mostly be online. It could be hybrid (online+on campus classes) but that depends on what happens in the next few months). I applied for my visa this morning. Do ya'll think I should defer to September 2021 intake? Because paying 7300 CAD for a semester just to do it online from your home country sucks. I'm very confused as I graduated with a bachelor in business administration last year and deferring would mean a gap of 2 years.

Would appreciate your help!!
Are you sure you applied for a visa not a study permit as you need a CAQ and after CAQ a study permit?

idk what you are trying to say, but If visa is refused then I'll show my refusal to CIBC and they will refund my money, but only if it is refused otherwise they gonna hold my money until I enter Canada. and Idk who's message you were reading, but I never mentioned tuition fees, as I'm taking online classes so tuition fees is justified. All I was saying if they really don't want people in long term, then they shouldn't ask GIC as a requirement in SDS visa.
Basically , i replied to this thread(you were part of it):- "Come on Man, let’s just say they don’t give a damn and I don’t know why do you defend them every time! Are you an agent or what? There are students who took huge loans from bank to pay their tution fees and they are just sitting at home doing nothing while paying the hefty interest amounts. Holding your money and decisions for 7 months and still not giving a clarity about it is wrong on every humanitarian ground and no reason can justify it. When every other county is working and allowing immigrants then why can’t Canada! "

Further, Immigration Canada have NO benefit from applicant's GIC. GIC is another way of making assurance that student is financially stable. Moreover, I was saying to have some patience as there are many problems that CIC have to deal with. Not giving any false hopes but there are people who get response quickly on the other hand there are people who have to wait longer. Whole world is facing this chaotic time at this moment and IRCC is also part of it.
Cheers !! Wish you have a positive response soon.

Why is the case with Canadian international students. My friend applied a week later than me for UK, got his permit in 4 days and will be travelling by end of this month. When every office is working in India why are VACs closed.

How well is India responding to COVID-19? Are the cases decreasing?

Yes. That’s why all Canadian international students are waiting..... people get uk study permit within a week and they can also pay extra money to expedite their application. Very sad

Since last month rate of new covid cases per day has dropped, not significantly but better. But most of government and private office are back in business. VAC office also should start their operations.

So, this way you justify that Canada has all the right to milking the international students to seize their hard earning money and generously pay $2,000 dollars to each spineless Canadians like you who are hiding at home and receiving free money at the cost of international students savings. International students are paying huge tuition fees but staying at home and getting 200 dollars useless online education at the price of 10,000 dollars, then later how they will get PR? Other countries are not doing that, they are not deceiving international students by luring them saying easy PGWP and easy PR. Be straightforward and honest.
Nobody is forcing you to study in Canada. First of all there are plenty of international students who applied and are receiving CERB even if they are earning nore than they would be if they worked part-time and the majority of Canadians are still working. CERB isn't "free money". Canadians will be paying back all this spending for decades. Your tuition fees go to the school foe operation costs not to the federal government so nobody in Canada is receiving your tuition. Canadian students are also paying quite high fees and their parents have paid very high taxes for decades and many are also receiving the same online education you are. It is a sacrifice we have to make due to covid. Some have also had to make the decision to defer their education if they want to study in person. There are many schools across the world who are doing online learning. Canada is not the only country. Getting PR is never easy but studying, getting PGWP and qualifying for PR via CEC or other program isn't what I would qualify as difficult or there wouldn't be a large amount of people qualifying for PR via this pathway every year. If Canada was misleading so many international students there wouldn't be hundreds of thousanda of students arriving in Canada every year.
