Quick question. My partner applied for his permanent residency in April ( Spouse sponsorship through me , Inland, he has been on a work visa for 2 years. He is British) . Sent all the paper work and we got a confirmation by post Canada that it reach the right place but since then... No confirmation that his application has been open or seen by anyone. Is that normal ? I understand the covid effect but its seems like a long time for no one to even open his file. He did not get the confirmation email that someone did .

It's not clear how your partner applied for PR (i.e. through which immigration program).

My bad, Ill edit. Through the spouse sponsorship. Inland. He has been in Montreal for 2 years on work visa. We have been living together the whole time

Apparently they are working on March applications now, you turn should come before too long but don't ask for a specific time, nobody knows.

In that case, yes, perfectly normal. Right now March applicants are hearing back. Some April applicants have started to hear back but most haven't heard anything yet.
