here is the original thread about the refusal ;
canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/my-study-permit-application-got-refused-just-two-days-after-applying-what-to-do.702881/page-2#post-8857433

and here is the gcms notes;
Subject is a national of Nigeria on temp status in Russia, recently completed BA studies and wishes to attend another BA course in Cda, studies to be financed by uncle. Motivation for this is not convincing even upon review of submissions and letter of support. Based on evidence provided, I am not satisfied subject has a genuine study purpose or that is a geniue visitor who would depart Canada at the end of authorized period of stay. Refused.

How do I correctly address these concerns? especially if I'm not fully qualified for master's program and have been recommended to undergo undergraduate in Computer Science? Thanks

I don’t remember when you launched your case, but I think you wrote about it on this forum before. In your place I would do the following:
1) Apply from Nigeria
2) try to secure admission for masters. Apply for a few colleges and programs – the perfect ones and the ones you’re semi-interested. Worst case you’ll just get refused for admission.
3) if you still want to try to apply for Bachelors as per recommendation of your prof try to get some written and signed note from him that this is indeed his recommendation. And from now on, imagine that you are on an interview and must back up your every word with a documental proof

Hope it will help!

Thanks mate!

But how can how prove my uncle is motivated to support me? It seems the visa officer doesn’t get the motivation behind the sponsorship. And to be honest in his letter he wrote, he just said I’m like and son to him and he’s inspired to support me cos he sees how thriving and hardworking I am to achieve my goals . Can I tell him to write a new letter cos he lived with my father when he was a teenager and it was my father who paid for his secondary education as well.

He must go to the notary and have his letter be notarized in native language and then translated to English. IRCC does not want just any letter, they want an oath. An oath is known as Affidavit of Support, you swear to follow what you've written. All major documents must have certified translation which means sown and stamped

Nigeria write in English and not native language. There is nothing to translate.

Then you can go to notary just to write the letter in more official way. It costs some money but gives some weight

No need for a notary. I can’t be enforced. The fact that you ha e been studying abroad and have temporary status in Russia and you are not taking andvanced degree are the major issues in my opinion.
Well, I transferred schools right before my graduation from the US. By your logic, I should also be refused even though I am approved

my university professor and supervisor who introduced me to the computational biologist career in my third year and advised me to go for an undergraduate in computer science cos she thinks that the right choice based on my then academic situations has promised to provide me a new detailed recommendation letter. Stating it was professionally advised and not that I just randomly go for another course undergraduate and that indeed I sought professional advice. will that suffice?

I think transferring schools is a totally different scenario and from what I've learned browsing the internet for information, it's cleared that transfer students stand the highest chances of approvals. and you're already in the USA which can be argued is as the same or similar to studying in Canada.

I had provided a court sealed affidavit of support earlier along with the letter of support from my uncle. Here is what he sent to me;
1. Letter of support
2. Affidavit of financial support(sealed by high court)
3. His national I.D card
4. His business certificate(issued to only big business)
5. His bank statements amounting more than $100k

I talked with him and he's promised to adjust his letter stating his motives for supporting me and our relationship.
hopefully that will suffice along with other documents provided

The truth you do not understand n all these is your country. Ircc discrimination sunk against Nigerian. 20% of Nigerians were only issued study permit last year. Read the thread that concerns Nigeria on this forum and you will be shock to see bona fide and genuine cases even those who have current US and UK visa and before travelled to canada with good cash been refused. what can you expect again from an agent of discrimination called ircc. pls reject them and look elsewhere. No document presented from Nigeria is always enough for the bunch of racist!
