Hello all,

Need your help!!

I want to confirm that when I receive my ITA and after that I submit all the documents (Education, Work experience, Forms, PCC, Medical ) and receive AOR ( Acknowledgement of receipt ).

After AOR if I marry my fiancé and add him and inform IRCC regarding this change will my scores will be recalculated?

(I consulted someone who said that If I marry ever after AOR, my scores will drop), is it true?

If you add your spouse after your eligibility is passed, then the score will not re-calculated. However, if the addition happens before or after AOR, it can lead to re-calculation of your score.

So we should wait until eligibility passed then make an addition?
I believe the addition will cause a delay in processing time. Do you know how long the estimate it will be?

In terms of timelines, adding your spouse will lead to a delay of 4 months atleast but that timeline was before COVID. Also, when adding spouse after AOR, IRCC performs medicals, criminality, and security checks for the spouse.

What is your current CRS if you add your spouse at this stage?

I already submitted my application and AOR on Oct 5.
My CRS was 498 at the time of submission.
We are planning to get married in Dec 2020 then add her to my application.
Or should I wait until get PR card then sponsor her?

Sponsorship route takes quite long. Since you have already submitted your application, you can inform IRCC once you are married and ask them to add her to your application.

If IRCC does recalculate your points, the score should not drop below the minimum score when the draw took place. If thee score drops below the minimum score, they may reject your application.

So, please check your points along with spouse. If needed, you should get her to do her IELTS and WES evaluation by December 2020.

Where did you hear this? I'm pretty sure it's wrong.

Thanks, Bro.
She studies in Canada and has not graduated yet. She doesn't have IELTS or Celpip either. If they recalculated, the score definitely would drop below the minimum score requirement when drawn. It's so risky.

If you get marriage after AOR, your CRS will not be re-calculated and your spouse only needs to provide medical and PCC.

The re-calculation of scores is at the officer's discretion

Do not get worried by speculation. If your case is genuine and you are submitting all the necessary documents in time, there is no need for you to panic.
