Hi all, thanks for this thread, it has been truly helpful. Can anyone confirm whether the sponsor has to sign the imm5481 sponsor evaluation form? The checklist indicates that this should be signed but there is no area for signature. Thanks.

If parents as PR complete 3 years of stay in Canada and are eligible for applying for citizenship, can the required period be waived off for dependent children or do they have to complete 3 years separately..If depenedent gets PR later, then he will be eligible at a later date..

The child does not have to complete 3 years..

As long as you are applying at the same time or are already a Canadian citizen and the child is under 18

I am adding my new born to my wife’s application. They didn’t ask for passport copy or medical upfront. I am sending it anyways. Did anybody else do that? Any idea how much time do they take to add the child to the application . The application is still ‘In progress’. Thanks!

Sponsorship evaluation form need not be signed. It is not in the checklist. Please check again. Only the application to sponsor and undertaking IMM 1344 needs to be signed by sponsor.

Make sure you download the right checklist. It might depend on the country and type of sponsorship. If I'm not mistaken the Sponsor Evaluation might be for sponsoring DEPENDENT CHILD ONLY. I checked my application, that form I submit also and doesn't need signature just fill out the form.

I am writing this post so that it might be helpful for some us
I have applied for RV for my 13 month old son in Novemeber2019 and it got rejected in 3 weeks time. Since my husband left to Canada we started sponsorship and PR . The timeline is
Jan 6 2020 : Application Recieved
Feb 5 2020 : SPonsorship Approval
Feb 6 2020 : Medicals Recieved
Feb 10 2020 : Medicals Submitted
Feb 14 2020 : Medicals Passed
Feb 18 2020 : File transferred to NDVO
March 8 2020 : Application Recieved on ECAS
And then the pandemic and absolute silence. So I was extremely worried and applied for TRV/ TRP. I paid TRP application fee 200 cad and TRV application fee 100. Included the TRP payment reciept and TRV online payment

May 18 2020 : TRP/TRV applied
I have written Covid 19 under the other section in application form. Also I wroted an email to ircc exemption explaining my situation.
June 8 2020 : Email approval of TRV from NDVO
August 7 2020 : Passport request letter in my gc account
But the confusion is still on as where to send the passport as VACC is closed . Hope this get resolves soon.

From my experience, for the success of TRV I realised medicals and explanation letter was very important

I hope by now things must be great at ur end...I want to apply for trv for my infant, had few questions, would be greatful if u can answer those...

1. What did they do to stamp ur passport for trv as VACs are still closed?
2. When u applied for trv, u created another account for your kid on cic website to apply for it or u applied from your account only?

1. The trv was approved but due to vac closure there is nothing i can do
2. I applied from my account
