@expatgoingback, I guess you misunderstood,I am particularly asking about the IMM5669 where it is asking for only one signature and that is electronic. Apologies for the confusion.
We interpreted the instructions that you have to also sign the last page of IMM5669 with a pen as well as typed in for it to be valid.

Hi. I'm asking for a friend. One of friends spousal application returned due to incomplete after 4 months. Just wondering if she has to sign again as its over 90 days old? Also pictures are older than 6 months as of today. Does she need new pictures of spouse? Any information will be really helful. Thanks
I don't know the official answer but I would suggest it's better to be on the safe side. As I understand it if an application is returned it's like starting from the beginning. Based on that I would definitely do new pictures.

Hi everyone. I already submitted PR application for my spouse who lives in the US. I was wondering whether it is okay if he could come to Canada on visitors visa (he already has it) to meet me. Will this affect out application? He has never come to Canada before.
I'm not an expert but I believe your spouse has to have proof they intend to return to the US such as a return plane ticket etc.

Be sure they also have the necessary paperwork to prove the relationship from a Covid entry policy perspective.

Have anyone from the August or September timeframe got a temporary application number? If the spouse application processing is going to be increased, then at least our applications need to be in the system.

I haven't seen any yet for outland. Take a look at the inland sheets though, those are pretty promising. It looks like they suddenly started issuing temporary file numbers via email for inland candidates and pretty quickly got caught up on scanning them in. It looks like September inland already has received emailed temporary application numbers.

I'm hoping we see that process start soon for outland.

Guys. I have some pretty basic question if someone could answer.

1. what's the difference between ECAS and GCKey and at what stage we make these account?
2. When do we Link our application to these accounts?

Thanks

ECAS=Electronic Case Application Status

You can check the ECAS in GCKey once you've linked your account to your case number. You'll get your case number when you receive your AOR1. Note the temp number that is issued if you call them (or e-mailed for the inland applicants) only confirms they've received it. You have to wait for your AOR1 to be able to link your application in GCKey and check on your ECAS.

Hope that helps.

I haven’t done that, do I need to resend it with written explanation?
I suggest you call them and ask to be 100% sure and not worry that the file will be returned - please post the answer for the benefit of others.

I was actually looking at some numbers from public statistics by IRCC. Following table shows number of Spousal applications processed each month for last 5 years and it seems 6000 would mean they are doing a lot above average for the year, but still not enough to cover the under work done in last few months. Great news nonetheless.

Kindly do own research, this is just my own personal take on the statistics.
