I would like to run something by you guys, just to collect some ideas.

when I came to Canada I appliedfor work visa at the airport immugration ( my employer’s lawfirm made the application package for me) it was refused as it was considered incomplete so I was returned. The citizenship application do not ask about refused visa, it doesn’t belong to any group, but I feel I should give this explanation in a LOE for transparency. So I am thinking to write something along these lines :For transparency reasons I would like to provide a short summary of the work permit refusal at the port of entry on yyyy.mm.dd at the xxxxxairport.

what would you do if you were in my shoes?
thank you very much in advance!

hi guys im posting this here as well as im slightly worried.

I applied for my PR back in 2017 through a lawyer and was just looking at the application today as i was preparing my citizenship application.

Under Canadian address history they put from 2015-02-15 till 2016-06-15. In actually fact i was only there until 2015-12-01 before moving onto the next address.

Now for my citizenship application i have to include past 5 years address history so there will be a discrepancy.

Should i ignore it as it is non material or should in include a letter of explanation saying address was mistakenly put wrong at time of PR application?
can anyone please offer any insight into this please. I am quite worried

If I were in your shoes, I would not provide explanation to something that is not part of the application and was not asked for, unless an officer asks for explanation further to refused visas

Hi all. Just a quick question and once answered I'll delete the post so as not to clog the thread.

Am looking to begin filling out a citizenship application however, when I go to the government site it leads me to a page here where it says I can download the package but, there's no button to do so with.

Where are you people getting your packages from?
Bullet point number 2 lets you download the application

If they are running some checks on the address history and found a discrepancy, they may get back to you to clarify the reason for this discrepancy.

I think it would be better to include in a letter of explanation.

im very worried. What if i do the letter and then they say i misrepresented. My gut feeling tells me its not a big deal because its not a material misrepresentation but im still worried.

I would think that it would be best to check first with your lawyer who was representing you throughout the PR application and seek guidance on the best course of action.

Anyone who has completed a Bachelors in Commerce degree from University of Madras and obtained citizenship - please send me a message. Want to understand how the language evidence can be shown as part of the citizenship application ?

BTW - is it necessary to include the marriage certificate for family applications?
i haven’t seen a requirement in the citizenship application instructions on IRCC website that asks for a marriage certificate. Could you please clarify the source of that information for family applications?

If his wife uses his name after marriage like in her passport or pr card, they need to add a marriage certificate. I just did that after talking with IRCC agent on the phone before I applied, checklist CIT0007 under "Submit the following if any of this applies to you" see Appendix A in the instruction guide. If his wife did not use his name after marriage then they do not need to submit a marriage certificate.
