Query regarding PGWP

Hey guys,

I hope you all are doing well. I have a question regarding working while on implied status. My case is I applied for my study permit extension before my study permit expires but my study permit extension was approved after I finished my studies. Since I finished my studies and gathered all the required documents to apply for PGWP I applied for my work permit (PGWP) last week, But there is a condition on my new study permit (extended) that 'This permit does not authorize the holder to engage in employment in Canada. Temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6)'. It's mentioned on the website that I can start working full-time after I apply for my work permit as long as I have a valid study permit.

I'm confused whether I can start working or I should wait till I get my PGWP.

Yes you are on implied status based on your PGWP application and can work full time.

Well, R186(w) states that someone may work while waiting for a decision on a PGWP application "if they are or were the holder" of a study permit that allowed them to work off-campus. So if OP's original study permit allowed them to do so, then they're good to go.
