i saw news today that canada has extended travel ban until the end of oct.
i guess we have to wait until then to see if they will lift travel ban since ircc has announced that they are only gonna issue visas after that.
Really ? I havent seen that news. Could you share a source ?

lol don’t understand what Canada and IRCC are doing. So they were saying they would only issue visas when the travel restrictions are lifted? But don’t they understand that we need around 1 month to stamp our visa? Given the current situation, we probably need even two months to stamp our visa and get the passports back. Not to mention some of VACs are closed. So if they are opening the border at end of this year, it’s highly likely that we can’t enter Canada until end of February. Also, don’t they understand that students also need time to find places to stay? We can’t finalize our places to stay until they stamp the visas. Why do they expect that students can find places to live within one month? lol

I hate to think like that but I feel that they will not lift the travel restrictions by the end of the year. They said it is totally dependent on the pandemic situation and number of cases. So unless the number of cases decrease or we find a vaccine/treatment, the travel restrictions will still be in place.

The other option that they should go with is to allow only students who have a negative pcr test and show no symptoms of covid 19 to board a plane to Canada and then quarantine these students when they arrive. This will be totally on the expense of students so that should not cost Canada any thing. In fact, that is very beneficial now for Canada's economy. I cannot believe that no one thought about this, they should have very strong reasons for not going this route.

can you apply for the gcms note even in the middle of visa processing? will it tell you the reason of rejection once your visa decision is out?

since you mentioned this, there was a survey conducted like two or three weeks ago that i took part in. and in the survey questions like how much you would like to pay for things like airplanes for students only, services after arrival, quarantine costs, etc. is asked.
i guess they are working on something as you mentioned. so just dont lose hope, it may take some time to prepare everything.

you can apply anytime you want. but if you applied too early, you dont get much useful information.
and yes, it will tell you reasons of rejection in more details.

Was it like an official government survey? That is good to hear.

It has been 4 months since my visa app, applying for GCMS notes now would be a good idea, wouldn't it? I got my AIP on 8th of Sep. and submitted biometrics on 1st of Sep.

thanks for the info, i was told that gcms note usually take over a month to process, that's really slow especially for those who are eager to find out the reason for refusal.
I lodged my application about 2 months ago (received aip), would you say it is a good idea to apply for the gcms note now so i can see exactly what's going on with my application, and perhaps get the reason for refusal immediately once the decision is out (if refused)? I have no intention to wait for a month before applying for my visa again as i am already taking online classes now

i think it can show you what exactly happened since you have already got AIP almost 3 weeks ago.

i checked again that i did the survey on sep 16th and it's done via surveymonkey:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SSC_EN

im not pretty sure what is the relationship between ircc and surveymonkey, maybe you guys have some clues.

personally, i would suggest to apply for gcms notes based on your status, because i have already done that. it wont hurt anyway.

surveymonkey is an independant service providing easy to use surveys. so no relation with ircc, just they are using it for a survey
