Proof of Funds

Hi everyone,

I have already looked for this information in this forum but I couldn't find it. My apologies if I'm being repetitive. My question is: does it matter how much money one has above the minimum amount required by CIC? For example, is there a bigger chance of being approved if someone has 40,000 CAD instead of 16,135 CAD (minimum for 2 people)? Or doesn't the amount matter at all as long as it is above the minimum?

Thanks!

No. Obviously showing more proof of funds can't hurt, but neither can it make up for any other deficiencies in your application.

Makes sense! Thank you @primaprime :) But is it worth it "wasting time" (and money, since translation is needed) proving we have this extra money if it is in the spouse's bank account? Or would it be an unnecessary work?
