Hi Everyone,

I am a CEC(Inland) applicant waiting for biometrics request. I had to travel out of country after AOR and was wondering if I could submit biometrics from outside Canada?

Thank you in advance

I believe you could, as long as you go back to your home country. cuz govt not suggest non-essential travelling

Technically...you can. Was your travel essential? Are you 100% certain you'll be allowed back into Canada? That is probably your bigger worry here

Well, I think if he wants to wait in the home country until card delivered, that is fine

Interestingly, they do not say "you cannot do it" but give a clear statement on their biometrics update page.

"While biometrics collection is temporarily suspended at Service Canada locations, do not go to another biometrics collection point, including
  • Canadian ports of entry (POEs)
  • other international biometrics collection sites
"

Yea I do see that statement, "do not go to another biometric collection point" from my interpretation, it express that due to the COVID and travel restrictions, if not necessary, do not go to another biometric site. basically against non-essential travel.

Hi, Yes I had to travel to India on a family emergency and I am going to be here for 3 months. I am 100% sure my travel back to Canada would be considered essential (I am on a work permit and I have a job). So, Do you think I can submit my bio metrics in India itself?

And another question, my AOR is on August 28, 2020. I still have not received my Biometrics request? usually how long does it take to get one?

Thank you

Yes..you can do that.
I am also waiting for my BIL and looking at my options to travel outside Canada for this purpose.
Unfortunately few more thousands to be spent in addition to the application fee paid already

Based on the tracker, CEC people usually receive BIL around 50 to 55 days after AOR recently.

My AOR is Feb 28th and I got BIL on March 6th.

Got my appointment for Biometrics on March 13th and Service Canada cancelled due COVID-19 2 hours before my scheduled appointment.
Still waiting for Service Canada reopen the offices.

Its gonna be 7 months of waiting in few days... :'(

Do you guys think it can be a last resort to hop in a plane and go to New York (or any US city closer to you) to give your biometrics?

If you listen to the automated message when you call IRCC, there’s an announcement that they’ll start calling inland PR applicants by the order of AOR to schedule biometrics appointment.
