What are you guys doing in terms of your status in the US? Like being on an OPT grace period, is that something that should be conveyed through web form to ircc or not?

I submitted an application and biometrics before OPT expired and received AIP later (after expiry while on grace period). So it seems like there's no issue with it because I'm still in legal standing here in the US.
The grace period will end soon and I will file adjustment of status to change to another one (and maintain legal status) while I wait to hear back for the study permit application.

Hello,

I am in a similar situation. I submitted an application for OPT before my 60-day grace period expires. I updated IRCC with the new documents (New I-20, I-94, etc). IRCC acknowledged that they will consider those documents during my visa process. However, I feel that by doing so, it has delayed my visa application. I submitted my Study Permit application on Mar.28.2020, and I still have not heard back from IRCC at all (No AIP, No Biometric Correspondence Letter). Many people who submitted their application later (in May, June, or July) seemed to have received some kind of update. However, I personally think that sending a web form cannot hurt your application. At least you are honest with them about your immigration status, and it shows that you are playing by the rules.

hmmm... okay I see. It's just a confusing situation to be in. But hopefully things work out for the best.

UPDATE STUDY PERMIT: I know someone has got the official final approval decision for study permit applied in US today: . If your application (in correspondence letter) is associated with Consulate Canada Visa Section in Lexington New York, please keep informed about your status decision/application or check ur application: . There may be an update in the coming weeks or soon so.
Hello, did the person you know receive AIP or a direct approval?

Hi! I just received an GCMS notes today. It seems from the Correspondence section, I am getting an Original Passport request. But in the Finalize Application section, it's still kinda empty. (Both number 0 appear on Document Issuance and Refusal Grounds). I looked it up and they seem to mean it's under processing. Anyone knows how to interpret this one?

Hmm... I'm not sure because I'm in the same boat. I still haven't received my notes though. Does your Original passport request have a date next to it?

Also, How long did it take to process your GCMS notes?

It has a created date but it does not have a sent date.

I think I ordered it on on late August so it takes about two weeks or so to receive it.

Ah okay I see. I've seen other posts with a similar thing but the date for the passport request passed.
I'm not sure what it means, but if they processed background check (and have a date for ppr) then it's safe to say you're on the right track.
