Are CEC applications in general processed slower than FSW ?
There is no such criteria. Currently CEC is being processed the fastest as IRCC is only giving CEC applicants COPR.

I am a PNP Outland candidate. Submitted Work Permit on May 7 and PR application on 13th July 2020 from India. There was no update.
On 26th August after login GCKey found an update in my WP profile that says "Medicals Passed". But my PR profile got no update. On Sep 3rd got an email that says Express Entry profile has an update. Upon login, I could see it just updated only the biometric field in my PR profile. I already gave biometric for myself last year as I hold a tourist visa and been in Toronto. As of now no status changes in my PR profile only it started showing a progress bar which is 30% completed stage. AOR for PR is 13 July. Anyone like me?

What does this progress bar which says 30% mean?

@legalfalcon What does the first ghost update, one month from MEP/BIL, indicate?

In between, there was RPRF request also, which has now been paid.
A GU only signifies a movement in the file, which can be as mundane as adding a document to your file, moving it to another VO, or a major one as completing of a stage. To know what triggered a GU you will have to see your GCMS notes and compare the activities in it with the date you received your GU.

However, not all applicants receive a GU. Some never do and get a PPR, some receive 4-7.

you need to do biometric again for PR ... even if you did it for Work permit.

the progress bar is an estimate (pre-covid) which anticipate that the Express Entry application for PR will be finished within 6 month. But others got CoPR at 60% ... others waited for a year after 100%.

Hi @legalfalcon When a new PR lands for the first time...can a family member accompany them on Visitor Visa? I want my mother to land with me.

So, in this case, what does she have to mention to the officers at the airport? Is this an issue?

The plan is that she will stay for a couple of months (while I settle in) and then return to my home country.

Until an applicant land and is admitted, the applicant does not become a PR. Having an approved application and COPR does not make one a PR, unless you land in Canada.

Further, anyone can accompany you, given that their TRV is approved, which is subject TRV application criteria.

Thank you. So, when the officer asks the TRV holder (my mother, in this case) the purpose of visit & she says that she is accompanying me while I am doing my initial landing, is it an issue? I mean, can this reason make the visa officer feel she might not return to our home country?

Because, the plan is that TRV holder will just stay for a couple of months initially.

The eligibility to apply for TRV is:

Eligibility
You must meet some basic requirements to get a visitor visa. You must:

  • have a valid travel document, like a passport
  • be in good health
  • have no criminal or immigration-related convictions
  • convince an immigration officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back to your home country
  • convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit
  • have enough money for your stay
    • The amount of money you will need depends on how long you will stay and if you will stay in a hotel, or with friends or relatives.
You may also need a medical exam and letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.

If you are applying with dependents then that indicates all of you are passed medical exam.
