Glad to hear that. Did you have to get a PCR test to come back to the UAE?
Yes, that's the strict requirement, for me i flew with Etihad and covid test should not be more than 96 hours old, mine was around 80 hours something, but all went smooth without any issue.

Very smooth, i landed and already back, it totally depends on the que, arrivals, and immigration officer sitting on their seats, it took me around 40 minutes to reach to immigration officer as there were only 3 immigration officer's and 2 of them were working like turtle, you can take domestic flight from toronto, but ensure that you have at least 3 hours in between so you can avoid any issue's or delays,

Hello ,

would IRCC cancel/revoke the PR if we do not travel before COPR expiry?

COPR expiring in 20 days , what would be the safe option to travel or not , taking into account that I need to come back to my home country as not ready to settle yet.

Main doubt being cancellation , or non extension of COPR if it expires

IRCC is not going to revoke anything, thats 100% sure, but if you will ask the extension there is a high chance that they will ask additional documents such as lease agreement, any job offer you have, POF may be, so its additional paper work you need to provide them as a proof and you need to inform them that you are landing permanently,

So, as per my advice, you should go and land if you are planning to do soft landing before the expiry of your current CoPR, probability is that once you will receive the CoPR extension you might have to go permanently, also, the extension might take a lot of time this is as per my understanding as i am talking to several people on this and they said that IRCC is not responding on timeline to extend the CoPR.

Good Luck!

I don't agree with all FJK1982 has said. They will not cancel your PR application. You do not need to apply for an extension, they will not issue one right now, all you do is advise them via web form when you are ready to travel if your COPR has expired. It is very unlikely they will ask for lease agreements, POF or job offers. You are already approved for PR. If they wanted that they would have asked during the processing for the PR.

Do not go and do a landing if you are not comfortable with the covid circumstances right now. When you advise them by web form they will review your file and yes, it will take a bit of time, I have no idea how long, but then they will re-issue your COPR and then you can travel.

I know dozens of people who shared their stories and even shared the IRCC letter with me showing the documentation required to get the CoPR extension, i am talking on facts and not just telling,

I landed on 2nd Aug and back as well, just to avoid the CoPR extension hassles, everyone knows that Covid is going to remain here for sometime and there is a high chance if you delay your landing than you have to provide your medical as well, addition to the documents i told earlier, its up to the people want to listen my advice and land or want to wait for extension which might take weeks if not months!

You didn't read my post. I said they are not providing COPR extensions right now. Yes you might have to redo your medical but not the other stuff you mention. The most important point is, if you don't feel comfortable traveling right now then don't travel.

Show us a copy of one of those letters to back up your statement please.

FJK1982 is right. On another threads in this forum, people have shared the same requirements. It changes from place to place - some in Europe have not been asked for proof while others in South Asia have been. It does not mean they will reject your application. I've seen a post where someone just gave what he could (didn't provide proof of employment etc) and he was given an extension.

If that's the case then I stand corrected. It is IRCC so I guess they can do whatever they want. Thanks

Hello ,
Definetely not comfortable to travel during this pandemic , plus international flights from my region have not started yet .

Time taken to re open file and extend COPR is not really a big problem for me.

The only issue would be cancellation of PR or going through the whole process again as we waited quite long before getting our COPR .

I read in few threads that the process of COPR Extension involves re opening of file via CGMS notes , reassessing medicals and criminals and that’s it . If that is the case then good .

whereas if the go back to details that would take too much time again
