Hi guys,

My friend just lost his status in August, his profile stands at 436. he has 2 years diploma in Software engineering and 2 years of experience as Technical Advisor (NOC B). Since, he lost his status and was unable to score more than 6.5 in writing. he could not improve his score to 456 or above.

Now, he has been looking for LMIA options and all the jobs are either in food industry or other. He is not able to get LMIA in technical stream so it is ok to take LMIA in other stream? His profile is in the pool from last 2 and half years so hes worried that if he takes any other LMIA he will not be able to get ITA and will be rejected?

Please, suggest options as he is seriously loooking for answers.

He can go for a work permit in any industry. This won't impact Express Entry. Note that to claim job offer points and/or count the work experience under EE, the LMIA & work permit need to be for a NOC A, B or 0 job.

So that means he can go for any job in 0,A, B NOC. And not specifically in NOC C.
Does that also mean he can put in his experience that he gathered in IT job with the LMIA points if he get it?

He can do any job (even NOC C). However if the job is NOC C, he won't get any points for this work experience under Express Entry and he also won't get any points for having a job offer.
