I have gotten different answers from CBSA and online sites. Does Canada do 6 months in a calendar year or rolling year? I thought it was a calendar year and I overstayed from August 2019 to June 2020 by 5 days if it is a rolling year, as I quarantined there before heading back to the USA. I called border agency and was told 6 months...then it is reset for the next visit! I wasn’t going to tell the person they were wrong...

Each visit can be upto 6 months per visit dependant on what CBSA decide at the POE. There is no rule as such about number of months in a year, although generally questions might be asked if someone spends more time in the country than out so if someone leaves often advice is to stay away for same amount time spent in Canada. But as said there is no hard rule about number of months in any year calendar or rolling year, each entry is determined afresh by CBSA at the POE.
So, when the border opens they won’t see that I overstayed at 188 days in The previous year? There’s nothing written in stone for them to go by?

exactly...that was the response from CBSA! My assumption was that it was a calendar year, only to find out it is a rolling year. By that time it was too late and I overs by 5 days 2019-2020
Exit info didn’t start for land crossing until July 11,2019. I just received my crossing report today.
Not really accruate. The crossing reports are 2019 forward. Doesn't mean they don't have access to much earlier information themselves.
How do I know? When my husband applied for citizenship in 2012, he failed to declare one single land border crossing into the U.S. (day trip). They caught this and he ended up with RQ and having to submit a whole bunch of additional evidence to prove his residency days.
