Help with the change to a new job

Hi, I have read some posts about this, but still not sure of the standard procedure.

I have got MPNP nomination under one job. Work permit is open. Is it true that after I get AOR, I can change to a new job, the same category, the same job title, full time? And I need to ask for the permission of the provincial office and later notify both PNP and IRCC of the change, and PNP will reissue a new nomination letter? And how long will this reissuance take normally?

Thanks

According to my friend's immigration lawyer, due to COVID-19, MPNP allows people to change jobs before notifying the office. I don't know the expiration date of your open work permit which is not a problem. If it will be due soon, you will eventually need your new company to pay the $230 compliant fee for the WPSL when you need to renew your work permit.
I recommend you to get a new job as soon as possible because the mentioned policy could change anytime. Then you can notify both MPNP and IRCC later.
Have you mailed your PR application to IRCC?

Thanks for the reply.
I still have more than one year work permit. Not yet, I am waiting to get invited from IRCC. I was just nominated a few days ago.
And I am wondering if you know one thing. Some people say if the job is changed after obtaining file number from IRCC, there is a risk that the application will be transferred to the local office. And then there will be a long wait...What is this about? How high will this risk be? Under what condition will this happen, I mean just because of changing a job?

You are a free man with 1+ years left on your permit.
I am sorry that I have no clue about the followup questions, but I would say 'don't worry about getting transferred because it's beyond your control. I don't think it's a big issue. You would update IRCC about your new job after AOR (which takes a few months to receive). If they would transfer your file to the local office just because of changing a job, then it does not make sense.' (Do your own research and consider some professional help.)
Alternatively, you have 6 months until your nomination letter expires. You might change to a new job, tell MPNP, get a new nomination letter and mail your PR application. (But it would delay your PR process and MPNP might question that why you need to change a job so quickly after nomination. )

So what you mean is that, I do not need to notify MPNP about job change if I get AOR. I only need to tell IRCC. But if I change it now, I need to tell MPNP and will be questioned. Is my understanding correct?

Hello
Should we apply for this employer-specific work permit just before our current work permit expires? Or should we apply for this work permit as soon as we get nominated?
Thanks in advance.

No. Even after getting AOR, you must also update MPNP. But if you will soon mail your PR application while you have not yet changed to a new job, you can postpone updating MPNP.
For the 2nd question or the alternative way, if you want to get an updated nomination letter before mailing your PR application, then you must contact MPNP; however, you just got your letter recently.
Logically, I guess they will ask some questions. (This is pure speculation) But it's been a while since you submitted the MPNP application, they might understand your situation and quickly permit your job changing with the minimum number of questions asked. (I am not a pro of immigration, the above are my thoughts / personal opinions based on facts or experience.)

I would go with the first way. When your work permit expires in 4 or 3 months, it is a good time to renew it because it might take 6 months to get the new one. If you renew your work permit in the second situation, I think that's way too soon unless it's expiring in 3 months.

It only took me a month for the nomination. And I have been on this job for roughly 2 months. I guess it is too quick to change the job. Probably I need to wait till AOR. Thanks for your opinions. Do you know how long will it take for the IRCC to invite to send full application, I mean on average?

You are welcome. Good call.
Do you have an EE profile? I would say it's fairly quick because your CRS score is very high. Just watch the next draw.
If not, it's paper-based. Then you can send your application once you are ready.
