Agreed! i think its taking longer now
I think it is because of to many WebForm requests - they blocked the biometrics, more and more people are stuck in between and don't know what to do.

It’s actually good. Atleast they might figure out something for biometrics.
As far as I know, IRCC does not issue COPR now even if you have the Biometrics. Candidates with AOR March are still waiting despite they passed every stage, incl. the biometrics (they could give it before Covid-19). Furthermore, IRCC does not want us to go to the POEs and international visa offices to give BIo. I would suggest checking those before going abroad.
@kabir_krishna even if they do, we’ll still be waiting, just like @DDEE said. I dont think they are giving PPRs or COPRs irrespective :(

7th july - service canada started gradual and safe reopening in-person.... its been now 2 months ..
15th July - biometrics exemption for temporary resident

as per note -
Passport and biometrics services will not be available during the first phase of the reopening of Service Canada Centres. For urgent passport services in Canada, clients can visit Canada.ca/passport for the latest updates. For information on biometrics collection services, clients can visit Coronavirus disease (COVID-19): Biometrics for the latest updates.

God knows when is the second phase!!!

No i think just the travel restrictions, i dont see any other reason to be honest. what do you think?
I think for inland candidates there are no travel restrictions. They even don’t need to go to border with new landing process.
I feel once they figure out something with biometrics inland COPRS will rain.

They have resumed more passport services. In-person services are available as well now. Hopefully, soon they will do the same for biometrics

maybe the issue isn't with travel restrictions and covid related things. Maybe they have to upgrade their IT system so they can process inland people without the biometrics. -it's just a wild thought-

I think it may be because your 30 days for BIL expired, and by default since they are not rejecting, it maybe doing that. Please do update if they waive off biometrics. Good luck
Hi dd23,
I was holding on to any thread of hope that things were moving in a favorable direction, but your response makes sense, thank you for the explanation!
