Hehe no, it’s not. That application was received on Oct 1st 2019. Mine was received around two weeks later. So I hope my approval is on its way I’m so excited but at the same time stressed out! This process made me so pessimistic.

Today I contacted VFS Russia via online chat and asked them if the removal of the orange Covid notification on their site is somehow connected with the soon reopening of Visa Centers. They replied that it only means that they updated the site but the Visa Centers remain closed up-to-date. That's all..

I'm pretty sure that chat operators have no idea whats going on. they know not more than you and me.

I wish it was true. But as I am fed up with this closure I made an appointment for biometrics enrolment in Turkey at the end of September in the hope that Russian VACs are open by that time.

"The Visa Application Centers (VACs) in Russia are still closed and we do not have a specific date of their reopening yet. Therefore, you may send your passport along with other requested documents directly to the Visa Section in Warsaw for visa issuance"

I hope too. This is actually funny how they kept saying that you had to wait for Russian VACs reopening and then out of the blue just sent it. Like...okay.

It's possible that they have just changed their policies as they start to identify what they can modify to clear the backlog. I'm not saying this is the case, but if is a possibility. Also possible they just decided to handle a few files this way for whatever reason.
