H＆C Does refusal affect visitor visa

My daughter and I have PR, and my mother entered Canada on a visitor visa. I plan to help her apply for H&C. If H&C rejects her application, will it affect her visitor visa? Can she continue to stay in Canada legally with a tourist visa? Thanks for your answer.

Ok for purposes of this think of an H&C application to have same effect on future visa for her to have same effect as if she would claim a refuge. Meaning, that would be the end game more or less (rejected H&C would result into future visitor visa rejections for her).

H&C is not just a visa rejection. H&C is a clear prove that she wants to move to Canada for good and stay here. And the basic conditions of any temporary visa is that the person intends to return to his country.
So yes it would affect visas for her the way, that she would get them rejected after that for good bits of years if ever she got a history of rejected or abandoned H&C.

No, unlike tourist visa intention of a family sponsorship is to get permanent residency. Just expect to scrutinize your application a lot closer. Thats all.

It won't impact a family sponsorship / PR application.

It will impact future TRV application and you should expect it will result in a cancelation of her current TRV.

Highly likely. Also note that an H&C application doesn’t prevent CBSA from removing her during the application process.

This is far from a guarantee. Here is decision so you can see that sponsoring a widow or the lone parent doesn’t guarantee approval. Is she able to care for herself? If there are no extraordinary circumstances except she wants to remain with her children that is not H&C.
