Hi, I need your advice about an important issue. I just received an acceptance letter from the college which will start this fall and I will apply for a study permit Visa and I am afraid that I can't take it in the right time as they say that the time for processing in my country about 5 months. So, I am afraid that I cannot take it , Moreover , The fees is too large sum with my country currency. So, I am afraid that after period of time I lost that big sum as the time for refund will be passed. So, what is your suggestions : Can I pay the non refundable sum and apply for Visa instead of the whole first term fees , but will that affect the acceptance of the Visa? Or should I pay ahh the sum with the big risk of loosing it ?? Please, honestly advise me . THANKS

I would suggest you talk with your college and defer to a later intake - January 2021 if they offer it. That will give you some time to apply for a student visa too.

Ask them first until when will you be able to defer to a later program if you haven't received an AIP or full acceptance by the registration date. Most of the time, the non-refundable fee is so that your seat is secured in the program. So maybe pay the non-refundable fee and then apply for the visa. Not sure but I think the non-refundable fees could be refunded if you are refused of a visa.

Goodluck!
