What they rejected Waterloo students? Are they out of their mind? I thought those prestigious universities never get any rejections.I applied through the normal visa process on 7 July. Received a rejection on 22 August with the following reasons:-
Would appreciate a forum discussion as I want to re-apply again before 15th September. Also what are the approval rate for the 2nd time visa application (1st time rejected)
- I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
- Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment/available financial resources, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.
Hi siddhanthain, have you already accomplished your biometrics? So you only have a one year gap because of working right after studying?I applied through the normal visa process on 7 July. Received a rejection on 22 August with the following reasons:-

Visa Officer probably didn't understand the connection from OP's engineering UG degree and Master of Management Science degree. It needs to be explained clearly in the SoPWhat they rejected Waterloo students? Are they out of their mind? I thought those prestigious universities never get any rejections.
No biometric, it was supposed to be in the 2nd stage of SP.Hi siddhanthain, have you already accomplished your biometrics? So you only have a one year gap because of working right after studying?
Thanks for the input. But i linked my Job (Supply chain based) to the Masters program (supply chain vertical) which i thought was good enough.Visa Officer probably didn't understand the connection from OP's engineering UG degree and Master of Management Science degree. You are showing too much funds. People use that much amount to go for start-up visa/other business immigration programs. There could be a plethora of possibilities how the Immigration Officers might misinterpret it.Hey, thank you for your reply. And yes, I am from INDIA.
In terms of finances, I showed them my 1st sem fee paid + 30,000 Cad in parents account + net worth of my parent up to 4,50,000 Cad (attested by a CA)
I feel like my SOP was strong and connected my education pretty well, and my intention to come back to India as well since my father has a family business.
I sure will re-apply with a stronger set of SOP and Finance , but would like to know what are the chances/rate of approval for such applications
I dont know man. What they rejected Waterloo students? Are they out of their mind? I thought those prestigious universities never get any rejections.
Thank you so much for the insight. You are showing too much funds. People use that much amount to go for start-up visa/other business immigration programs. There could be a plethora of possibilities how the Immigration Officers might misinterpret it.
The best way is to show an education loan. Let’s say you can pay your tuition. Keep that money in a fixed deposit and get an education loan against such fixed deposit. Canada is one of those places that believe in credit histories and scores rather than direct money. It can be misinterpreted as money laundering and the government tries to avoid any such possibility. In terms of living expenses, get GIC (ScotiaBank is popular amongst students). A GIC and education loan papers are the most satisfactory documents that the government relies on. They see no potential risk in those. Reliable funds/safe funds are considered better than just a lot of funds. (Currently the Canadian government don’t rely on a lot on Indian documents of CA and stuff because we all know that there are people misusing such privileges with false information). Show only the funds you need.
Let’s think like Immigration Officers for once. You are showing 450K net worth of parents. You are here for studying. You apply for Business Immigration while on a study permit. It gets approved while you are still studying. Now you claim you should pay Canadian tuition instead of International tuition. There would be lawsuits and troubles for everyone. Also, in that case, you had no intention to return in the first place. You see what I mean. You have to put yourself in their shoes and assess your own application.
The GCMS will take up 30 days to arrive, and I have to apply before 15th Sept.Order GCMS notes to understand exact reasons and address those in your SOP.
Don't worry much about the refusal, there are people got their sp after 5 refusals. Just make sure you addressed VO's concerns next time.
How could they see credit history and credit score if the applicant didn't provide PAN details ?You are showing too much funds. Did you explain in your SOP that even though with a US visa why you're opting for Canada and the firm reasons behind this decision ?They gave me a rejection in the First Stage Approval. And I have no travel history to Canada. (but i have a visa for United States)
You need to explain it like you're talking to a high schooler. They prefer to see a linear education continuation even though your choice is extremely logical. Maybe mention some specific courses that are similar to your BSThanks for the input. Hi @SiddhantJainThe GCMS will take up 30 days to arrive, and I have to apply before 15th Sept.
So what update did you get in your gcms ?Hi @SiddhantJain
That's not entirely true. I applied for my GCMS notes on August 4th and received it in August 20th (12:58 AM). So, it's basically took me around 16 days for it. There are many in this forum who got their GCMS Notes even earlier than me (you can see those in this forum).
I suggest you apply through this https://www.thegcmsonline.com/
As I feel they are the fastest and cheapest one there is.
I'm telling you this as I've used their services and got my results sooner than expected. But, I had ordered for Basic GCMS Notes (which is faster compared to others) Which I'm sure it'll delivered within 15-20 days.
Just trying to help you out. And I hope you get the approval in your next attempt.
ALL THE BEST
