I applied through the normal visa process on 7 July. Received a rejection on 22 August with the following reasons:-
  • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
  • Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment/available financial resources, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.
Would appreciate a forum discussion as I want to re-apply again before 15th September. Also what are the approval rate for the 2nd time visa application (1st time rejected)

What is your educational background, proposed study plan in Canada? If you write your profile here than other members will be able to help you. Before re-applying, order GCMS notes to know exact reasons.

I'm so sorry to hear that Siddhant.

In addition to Jigzyy's questions, did they give you a decision without Biometrics or you had a travel history to Canada?

You have to show strong ties to prove that you’ll return. One could be some sort of liability- like a property in India (I presume you are from India. If you are not, replace India w, or an education loan against a property. You could provide letters from your parents that they’ll be funding for your education so that you can come back with a good degree, get a proper livelihood and look after them. Show them the minimum possible funds required for your stay. You could also provide financial documents like investments, fixed deposits that would establish your strong ties with India.

In terms of education, it’s better you write an SOP stating how IT and Management Science are related and how you would benefit from it for your career prospects and contribute to the growth of India.

Hey, thank you for your reply. And yes, I am from INDIA.

In terms of finances, I showed them my 1st sem fee paid + 30,000 Cad in parents account + net worth of my parent up to 4,50,000 Cad (attested by a CA)

I feel like my SOP was strong and connected my education pretty well, and my intention to come back to India as well since my father has a family business.

I sure will re-apply with a stronger set of SOP and Finance , but would like to know what are the chances/rate of approval for such applications

Almost close to none unless you change the course. It must be related and the curriculum should not be redundant (must have progression in studies by supplementation). Even if you scale through this you need to prove socio-economic ties.

Try for one more time with the changes and if it doesn't get any better hire a lawyer or licensed consultant with good standing to represent your case.

The more refusals you accumulate the harder it gets to convince the officer and they will issue new reasons for refusals.

Order GCMS notes to understand exact reasons and address those in your SOP.

Don't worry much about the refusal, there are people got their sp after 5 refusals. Just make sure you addressed VO's concerns next time.
