So I asked my rep about my application since it's been 6 months and he said that the period between march and July shouldn't be taken into consideration as processing time since they were not issuing PR and only processing urgent cases.

Basically he said my file was processed between January 26 and March 12 and then continued July 2 till now which is 3 months. Also that I should expect delays because they're processing at a very slow pace and prioritizing cases on urgency basis. So I should expect to wait another 3-4 months before being able to ask for details or raise a web form.

I hope it won't take that long thinking about having to go through another 3-4 months feels horrible.

Hi, My AOR was on Feb 4. My application was under background check and today i got a ghost update. Should I worry about anything or is it a positive sign?
No need to worry it's a good sign, I believe that the GU is likely them completing your checks if recent posts by others is anything to go by.

Do you know which visa office you are being processed at?

I don't think that is exactly correct, processing times have been slowed but people who have an AOR in January seem to have been getting their applications completed.
There is just no issuing of PPR to outland candidates right now.

I seriously hope he's mistaken or maybe just giving me the worse case scenario in order not to get my hopes up.

Its likely your security was cleared. Please call them to know what was the GU about. Are you a PNP candidate?

Not sure why your rep sounded like that. May be to keep your hopes low on you getting the PPR sooner as you have mentioned. Although there were some delays due to this current situation, they have picked up pace off late. If it wasn't for border closure, many of Jan & Feb guys would have got PPR by this time as they have cleared everything.

What's your AOR? Sorry, if I'm repeating this question.

He is wrong. Processing has been generally slow but they've been on going through the pandamic.
Most Feb. AOR got their eligibility processed in May and June.

He may have said that to keep your hopes down. And if that's the case, I don't really blame him.

I honestly don't know the AOR date but I know I received ITA on January 22, Medical submitted January 26, Biometrics Instruction Letter February 11, Biometrics submitted February 17. After that I don't know anything he just keeps saying no updates everytime I ask about my application.

Ok, now I remember you have already stated that you are not sure of your AOR date. Keep checking with him on regular basis as you seems to a Feb applicant and many of them are getting their eligibility and security cleared recently.

Most recent person who has security cleared from Sydney office that I've seen had an AOR of 5th of Feb.
Have you seen anyone with a more recent AOR pass security in any of your groups?
