Hi,

I am planning to call my parents-in-law to stay with us for a duration of 4-6months as my wife is expecting. We (wife, son and myself) are PR holders and have just moved to Canada for settling permanently since our soft landing in Nov 19. We generally call them to stay with us during this time. We did the same last year when we were in UK. We are bit confused to add the reason for their visit. Normally, we would family union and tourism as the reason. But, due to the pandemic we not sure to add tourism a reason (though we might tour nearby). Should we add about our wife pregnancy or will it complicate the visa application?

Also, my parents-in-law are not having marriage certificate. Can you please guide any other documents that we can add and acceptable?

Thanks.

Avoid mentioning they will be here to assist with caring for the newborn. That’s considered working as individuals get paid to do it here, thus illegal for visitors

If they are applying from India they won’t be able to get a TRV until offices are open again because they can’t do their biometrics. Would have a plan B because travelling in September without having a TRV already will take time.

Does mentioning spending quality time sounds sufficient to apply for visa & travel? Should we also add tourism, given the pandemic situation we are in?

The latest I checked that they are accepting applications.

Just mention that you are inviting them to see Canada. Thats it, don't even mention about the pregnancy, taking care of someone etc. The visa office does not need to know anything else.

Coronavirus pandemic is still peaking, so I am not sure if it is advisable to invite them to Canada at this time as there is still a ban on non-essential international visitors to Canada.
