In your GCKey account, under "Details about your application status", what is written for "Eligibility", "Background Check" and "Final Decision"?

Hi Friends,

As I am spending my days in Canada, I have thought about you guys and I just like to point out that, wait is definitely worth it! I am in such a gratitude of my spouse. Because, not for one second she lost hope like I did because, coming to the end of the process, I never thought I'll see the day that I was in Canada.

Many of you are in disparity but you will persevere this obstacle like you did with many others. I know it's very hard but, please don't lose hope and be kind to your spouse. Hopefully in the end everything will work out!

May I ask where you are from? I'm asking because getting the passport back from Ankara VO could be another problem for some countries. And do you know if other May applicants have also finally received their PPR / COPR / Visa?

I got the DM via the ECAS but for the GCKey it shows like this


Background check:

• We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

Final decision:

• Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

I tried linking my spousal application To gckey but it kept telling me they couldn’t find my application. I tried different methods such as UCI number, application number, date of birth but still can’t locate my application. Maybe the last question that it said how many family members in the application? I said one (my wife) but Still nothing. Then I said Two but still nothing. I exceeded the 5 times attempt now I have to wait 24 hrs

It should have worked with 2.

Try different combination of options for "Application details". Application # and UCI should usually work.
The rest should be pretty straightforward.

I know a few people here who've applied over a year ago and haven't heard back (myself included). Once you pass the 12-month average waiting time, it gives you an option on mycic to fill out a web form and request an update. In the web form you choose which visa office you want to contact. So I'd wait a few more days, but if you don't want to, you can fill out a web form, which is their recommended way of getting in touch with them, or here's their email: ANKRAIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca.

Hey everyone. I just received a letter asking for more documents but I don’t know what some of them are. Please can you help me?? Please if you can tell me what the below 2 points are that would be amazing.
 Please provide National ID Cards and Official Family Listing from the General Directorate of Civil Registration and Nationality of Turkey for the sponsor including full names, DOB, country of residency, remark if deceased) listing his (former) spouse(s), children, parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews (Vukuatli Nufus Kayit Ornegi). This must be received at this office by: 2020/09/19
 Please provide other evidence in support of the H&C submission

As far as I know only Turkish citizens can get this Vukuatli Nugus Kayit Ornegi. At least lawyer told me this. Short term card holders don’t need if I’m not mistaken. I’m surprised why they are asking for this. Didn’t understand what it this H&C submission

Vukuatli Nugus Kayit Ornegi shows your official marital status, members of your family according to the government of Turkey, so I can only imagine it would be given to Turkish citizens, as Vazira pointed out.
Not sure about H&C submission for the family sponsorship either.

I personally want to ask them this simple question: how exactly working on applications puts an immigration officer at risk of getting covid 19 !? How come every other job is adapting to new protocols. As far as i remember no one gets to see the actual immigration officers who review and make decisions on both paper and online applications. Those workers are already in a safe consulate building with the highest security in place. And most of the work must be done online anyways. They dont go door to door to do background check or meet with the applicants family to do eligibility assessment. Why dont they simply say we dont want you guys to bring your family to this country for now because there is no benefit to us in doing that, instead we prefer international students or millionaire investors. I mean why do they keep saying we are only working on "immediate family visas, vulnerable people and essential workers" if we cant use it it means its either not working right or they dont mean what they state on their official websites. And then theres the media talking about US-Canadian couples as if they are the only ones suffering from this total mismanagement during this time. Even they dont get any serious attention. I worry when the flue season begins more strict rules, lockdowns and border complete shutdowns are gonna be back. What then? tell us again sorry please understand this is an unprecedented situation and you must keep on waiting? Are they seriously going to wait for a vaccine or what ? The funny thing is they say we understand you, no you dont. Try separation from your beloved husband or wife during this time and see how the fear of their safety while you cant even visit them feels.
This whole pandemic is going to be an absolute lame excuse for years to come. Im not denying anything regarding this horrible virus taking so many lives around the world But how come me and so many others were able to adapt and get back to work and pay tax but they cant ? whats their excuse ?!!
