unless there are specific path on the phone.........
But also note that some already have UCI prior to the Sponsorship Application. For example I got mine because I applied for TRV. Anyone with UCI from previous application will keep using it for any further communication/application with IRCC as it never changes.

Hello, New to the forum. I am a Permanent Resident of Canada, came to India for wedding and got stranded due to COVID19. We got married and since we had all the documents ready for our Outland Spousal Application, we decided to courier the application to CPC Sydney, NS which was delivered on July 23, 2020. I wanted to check if mailing the spousal application while stuck in India would be an issue due to which it would be rejected? I continue to work remotely for my Canadian employer and continue to pay rent and taxes in Canada while I am stranded in India. Any information someone could provide would be helpful. I tried contacting IRCC but until they open the application packet and start processing, they can't seem to provide update not could let me know if they received my application since it is nor in the system yet. Thanks.

As a PR you have to be in Canada to sponsor someone, unless its for a trip that lasts like 2-3 weeks. Not being in Canada would most likely result in rejection

Thanks. Given COVID, wouldn't CIC not consider the request since there is so much backlog?

Have you tried sending a webform and asking them?
There are lots of flights now back to Canada from India, so I would just come back and send it.

I tried but could never get a proper response. I was asked to provide details of my application and the tracking and was informed that they could not locate my package. Seems like until they open the package and scan the documents, they wouldn't tell if application is in and what additional information they would require.

I am from Lebanon, Beirut (the capital)....Immigration and gloabl affairs have a task force on Lebanon and still they would not help me on my application. My wife got affected by the explosion that happened in beirut but thank god she only lost her car. Nor sure if I could do something about it.

Sorry for what happened to your wife. In general IRCC agents can be reached from inside Canada specially at the first stage of the application like now. I don't think any visa office can provide any help until the file is transferred there.

Since we all work from home now days, I am spending some times in Montreal. I live in Ottawa. I called IRCC and told them that I need to rent an apartment in Montreal and it is going to be my secondary address because I am paying AirBNB the same price for places I stay in. They are fine with it, so I guess, it is fine to have an address in Quebec while your application address is in Ontario.

I saw the following response from IRCC on their official Twitter handle to a similar situation as mine. “If you are outside Canada on a temporary basis due to Covid-19, but Canada is your principal country of residence, you could include a letter of explanation to clarify your situation. Decisions are made by highly trained migration officers who carefully and consistently assess each application equally. The officers take into consideration all circumstances presented to them by the applicant.” Seems encouraging and makes me hopeful. But yes, I should return ASAP.
