Studying Part-time due to failed standing Status

Hello,
I am currently an international student studying my bachelor's in Software Engineering. I started my program on Fall 2018 and was a Full time student for the 2018-19 session. But after my GPA evaluation, I got put into part-time status by my university as I failed to meet the minimum GPA requirements. So, I studied as a part-time student for Fall 2019 and Winter 2020 sessions working to bring my GPA up and I have successfully done so. In all the time that I have been here in Canada, I have also been working part-time too and I have come to realise that I was not allowed to work during my time as a part-time student. I have heard that it will affect my PGWP.
So, I was wondering if there is any point to study here anymore now that it seems like I am no longer likely to receive a PGWP.

You are correct in understanding that by studying part time, you no longer meet the requirements for a PGWP. And yes, you were not allowed to work while a part-time student. I think you have the following options: (1) complete your studies with a plan to leave Canada once you are done since you won't qualify for a PGWP; (2) start a brand new program and remain a full time student for the duration of that program so that you qualify for a PGWP; (3) Leave now without completing your studies.

If I start a new program, won't that still affect my PGWP possibility?

I not sure if you could do this. But just wanted to help you out. Why not quit this program and join a diploma program for Computer Science as you currently have 2 years left and assuming you were financially ready to make payments for a 4 year bachelor's degree. Then you need to study hard and get through the diploma which will make you eligible for PGWP. All the best. Hope everything works well for you.
