Lost Passport - How to Show Proof of Physical Residence

Hello Sir or Madam,

I have lost the original passport in Jul 2018 before I became PR in Apr 2019, how do I show proof that I have lived 730 days in Canada before becoming PR to get maximum of 365 days to apply for Canada citizenship?

I guess you should provide a police report regarding the loss of your passport. Secondly, you can provide any copies of that passport pages, if you have in the record. Thirdly, you can provide relevant information(s) to prove your residency in Canada. Here is the link to PDF for your general reference.

In the worst-case scenario, you may get a Residence Questionnaire (RQ) to prove your residence (similar to PDF, link attached above). At least you should start gathering those information(s) as much as possible. It'll save a lot of time and hassle.

Maybe you could also obtain a travel history report as additional information

Passports do not always get stamped by many countries anyway these days so that doesnt seem a reliable proof of residence

Thanks Mike for your advice, I still keep copy of the lost passport and the police report.
When I entered Canada, sometime my passport was not stamped. I remember one time I entered Canada through a kiosk and it was not stamped. Is that ok or will it affect my application and cause delay?

I'm not sure. But I'll suggest to be extremely careful and 100% exact when you'll mention your dates/period of absences in the physical presence form.

During the interview (after the knowledge test), the Officer does check the passport(s) to confirm and cross-check the dates with what you've already mentioned onto your physical presence form. Just keep copies of passport and all other documents handy, in case the officer asks. Ircc can also ask CBSA to verify the travel history, so no need to get worried. Make sure, you checkmark 'yes' inside the box for Q14 (b) in the application.
