Police check certificate-1-week short visit to the country after the issue date-Does it matter?

I lived in China before 2011 and went to Australia for study afterwards. I got one Chinese police certificate in 2015 and afterwards I traveled to China only once for 1 week.

To my understanding, the police certificate I got in 2015 can still be used for Canadian PR application, since I haven't lived in China for more than 6 months continuously after 2015. I read on immigration website, it mentions "For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant stayed in that country for 6 months or more in a row."

Can someone with relevant experience suggest if I need to re-apply for a new Chinese police certificate after the last time I left China? Thanks for any advice.

According to the advice you quoted above, which is current policy, you need a new PCC.

Thanks for reply. I think it means the PCC should be issued after the last time I lived in China for more than 6 months. The last time I lived in China for more than 6 months is 2011. I got the PCC in 2015. I stayed in Australia from 2011 and only returned to China for one week in 2018.

In order to be valid for more than 6 months or a year (it seems to vary according to the type of application) it must have been issued after the last time you set foot in the country. If you have been back in the country since . . . even for just a week . . . you need a new PCC.

I don't think you need to get other PCC since China is not longer the country where you currently live, and For any other country you used to live - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/apply-permanent-residence/police-certificates.html clearly says that "the police certificate must be issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row." so the PCC you got from 2015 should be fine
