Anybody of you has a co-op component in your programs ? any thoughts on what will happen for that ? we can't do co-op programs remotely right ?
Not only is it impossible to do co-op remotely but we can't even apply for co-op jobs if we don't have a co-op work permit.

And we get a co-op work permit only if we already have a study permit.

I don't know how we're going to even try getting a co-op if we can't even go there.

Covid is wrecking havoc on our lives and preventing us from getting access to so many opportunities, potentially changing our whole lives. I'm sorry for sounding negative or anything but I'm really worried and anxious.

Yeagh, my student permit is still pending. I even applied for a co-op work permit along with the student permit application. Not sure about what will happen.

Hopefully there will be a good update at the end of this week. As I know the current travel restrictions are till 31st of July (correct me if i'm wrong) so they will probably issue an update on that.

Lol, really? Have you checked the Canadian curve lately? I could name you 150 countries at the moment that all showcase better Corona curves. As a matter of fact anyone entering Canada from those countries would improve the health situation of Canada, statistically speaking. And what does Canada do: It opens its borders to US American students. What a joke. Big brother got the last word again as usual, left government with zero backbone.

because you will bring disease

Firstly bud, that was a sarcastic comment. Secondly, having more non-infected people to a population doesn't make the population healthier it just makes the infected/total population figure look better. As for US based students, it doesn't make sense. Could be due to NAFTA, who knows

Statistics, not statistics, numbers don't lie. If you let the same number people as total count of residents in Canada into the country, people with 1/2 the infection rate the risk would be significantly lower for ANY Canadian to bump into someone else and get infected. This is elementary school math and stats. And last time I checked NAFTA applies to good and services not to humans, but at least we can agree on this nonsense decision.

Yes NAFTA applies to human labor movement as well, why am I not surprised that you didn't know that. As for everything else you've said, I've never heard anything more ridiculous and childish. Good day.

Rubbish. NAFTA has nothing whatsoever with COVID travel restrictions. It's purely politics and the lack of the will to do the right thing as long as big bro does not approve. Re infection numbers, I guess you are not from the stem field hence I won't bother to explain more. Typical attitude: "hey bud, I don't believe in numbers and statistics, and while I don't understand your argument I don't think I would like it anyway. Canceled. Over and out".

At least you made me chuckle. Not sure you are on the left or right fringe but clearly not the brightest lamp in the room.
