You can't extend or "restore" your PGWP. You either need an employer to apply for an LMIA to sponsor you for a closed work permit, or to apply to change your status to visitor.

You cannot restore to BOWP unless you have applied for PR within the time limit for a BOWP.

As you haven't been invited, you cannot restore to a BOWP. You can only restore to a status you have held and could still hold.

"Restoration" means you had a specific status previously but expired, and you want to recover that status. What you are seeking is extension of staying in Canada.

(1) You are currently under PGWP and it is not the permit that can be extended, as indicated by someone in the previous thread.

(2) Applying BOWP needs your completeness check of PR application to be completed. Since you have not been invited, this is also not applicable.

(3) What I would suggest is that you apply for a close work permit of your current employer. Under the current special processing procedure, you can keep working and maintain as implied status while your closed work permit application is being reviewed by IRCC.

(4) Another option is to apply for visitor record, but you need a double-check whether that will have a negative impact on your PR application (e.g. insufficient skill working period, etc.)

(5) IRCC just gave a much longer period of restoring status (not 90 days anymore, but before Dec 31, 2020). Since your current PGWP is neither extendable nor recoverable, this may not apply to your case.

We understand what you are asking. You cannot restore to a BOWP. You must be holding a valid work permit at the time you apply for a BOWP. What you are asking about isn't possible.

They are wrong. You cannot restore to a BOWP. The IRCC help desk often provides wrong information and is pretty much useless for all but basic questions. The reason why you can't find any information on the website is because it's not possible.

Again, you must be holding a valid work permit at the time you apply for a BOWP. You cannot restore your status to a BOWP.

Yes - to switch to a closed work permit you would need an approved LMIA from your employer.

What does the email say exactly? It's not possible to restore to a BOWP. So either they misunderstood your question or you have misunderstood the response.

I don't know how long the BOWP rejection will take. I don't understand what you mean by "ircc said for 90 days they dont reject does this apply to bowp".

  • When additional documentation is required to make a decision on the application, processing officers should send a request letter and allow 90 days for the applicant to respond

I don't see how this applies to your situation.

This extension applies to cases where someone cannot complete biometrics due to biometrics centers being closed. Or where an additional information request has been made by IRCC which the applicant cannot complete due to COVID-19 related challenges.

This doesn't help you in any way in terms of the BOWP. You must still have a valid work permit at the time you apply for a BOWP and must also have ITA and have submitted your PR application.

If i do not provid an ITA and apply for bowp does it consider as missing document ?
