Hi, one of the requirements for immigrating as a skilled worker is 1 year of continuous work experience in the field. Does this mean that if I had 1 week of no employment whilst I was being hired by another company, the work experience prior to this week would no longer be valid? Also, does paid work as an apprentice count? Thanks

It depends which category or program you are applying under.

What counts is whether you did the job. Apprentices are usually under the same NOC as professionals. A week's break in employment would probably not kill your year of continuous work experience, but both jobs must have been in the same NOC.
