Due to COVID-19, a lot of Canadians and foreign workers have been laid off. As some foreign workers have to gain Canadian experience for a certain time period in order to apply for their permanent residency, the lockdown and layoffs would negatively impact them.
It is uncertain when the lockdown will be lifted and workers will be able to re-gain their job positions. Therefore, we request IRCC to grant an automatic extension of 6 months or a year for the work permit holders (and prospective post-graduate work permit holders), in order to give foreign workers a fair chance to gain experience.

I am on a closed work permit and have a full time job.
Can i apply for study permit and do part time MBA ?
Yes! You can apply for study permit after your expired work permit to renew your status/ you can also apply for visitor visa after your expired work permit! If you apply for study permit to get more points for immigration make sure you check the status of part-time and full time study like how many points they give you for part time study after! I am not sure about part time but for full time study they give some extra pointS! You cant work full time when you get study visa
So just check with any immigration advisor

My situation:

my current closed work valid is until October 2021.
I am planning to apply for part time MBA from Sep 2020.

And for international students , if you study part time , you cant even work , you are not eligible but if you study full-time , you can only work part-time20hours per week

I have PR application paper base. Applied a year ago. I still have 9 Months left on my close work permit but I was laid off and now working on less hours due to Covid-19. Is it worth it for me to try applying for BOWP even though I still have 9 months on my close work permit? Because I need to find another job to support my stay here in canada. Thanks

Hey guys!
Here's my timeline and I'm wondering if anyone can share theirs as well??

November 2019 - Graduated from University, At that point, enrolled in a post-graduate certificate program
February 20 - CIC Received study permit extension.
March 31 - Study permit expired
April 30 - Finished post-graduate certificate program
May 25 - CIC received PGWP application

I have a job offer from a financial institution that starts August 31st, I'm super worried I won't get my work permit by then. I've submitted my job offer document through the web form in hopes of having my application speedend up a little.
Singapore passport is biometric so I never needed to give biometrics.
