Hi, I have roughly 3 years of experience in NOC 6314 and 4 months in NOC 1123.

Now, in some of my experiences, the responsibilities were as per 6314 but my job title doesn't suggest that. Also, the employer is giving me a letter with very generic responsibilities and not the duties I actually performed. My question is should I claim 3 years of experience or no? If I do, my points will be 481, and if I claim 1 or 2 years, it will be 456.

It seems I won't be getting through with 456, so what will happen if I claim 3 years of experience and after application, the officers decide that the experience is not high-skilled. Will they reject my application? Or consider the application with lesser points, 456? Thanks for your help.

Hello Kamal -- Try to talk to the employer and get the reference in the recommended format. Is NOC 1123 ongoing ? Otherwise they may not count a separate job that lasted less than a year in 1 NOC code -- they expect 1 year of CONTINUOUS work experience in 1 job/NOC.
No point forcing the CRS points as you will have to pay the Application fee only to have your application rejected due to low CRS if they reject (which is likely) your work experience.
My advice:
1. Get proper job experience for 6314 job
2. If NOC 6314 is ongoing, wait few months to reach 3 complete years -- then apply
3. If NOC 1123 is ongoing, wait until it becomes 1 year -- then apply NOC 6314: 2.X years + NOC 1123 1 Year = 3.X years

To answer your question at the end: if the decide they don't like the reference letter for that work experience, they will remove that work experience and deduct the points, not immediately reject the application. Then they compare your new score to the score of the round you got your ITA. If your new score is below the cutoff for the round of invitations, which it most likely would be, your application will be rejected. If not they continue processing as normal.
