Hi All, I did soft landing in 2018 and lived 4 months in Toronto and came back due to my Job security in home country. However, I wanted to go back now but due to this COVID condition it got postponed. I have below queries:
1: Is there any exemption on the no. of days due to this COVID-19 situation for the PR holders living aborad.
2: We are expecting our baby and can't move before that again this COVID situation and doctor recommendation. How can we apply Visa/PR for baby. Can I apply from here or Do I need to go back and apply for him/her. There maybe issue then as my Wife needs to be there with baby in home country.
Please help...
Thanks in advance.

You have had since 2018 to move so it is unclear if people will be given H&C consideration since you decided to wait 2-3 years before moving. The RO is already quite lenient. You need to sponsor your child’s PR from Canada. You can try to get a TRV for your child to come to Canada with you during sponsorship. In most provinces the baby will not have healthcare coverage until they get PR. If denied a TRV you can try to get a TRP. If that is denied you have no choice but to have one spouse move to sponsor the baby. You must be compliant with your RO to sponsor someone.

Thanks for your mail. I’ll go for it as your recommended. However, could you please tell me what’s H&C and RO. Also my PR is valid till 07 2024 so anyhow I have time to complete my 2 years duration and also I lived about 6 months after landing.
Thanks again.

Your PR card validity is irrelevant. You have to be physically present in Canada for 2 years out of 5 from the day you landed. (Can check the exact date at the back of your PR card) So 2 years until 2023 since you landed in 2018.

Thnx for your reply. Yes it’s expiry is 28 June 2023 and I landed in mar 2018 and lived about 4-5 months. So you mean I need to live more than 20 months to get my PR card renewed. Also for my new born, any suggestion on TRV OR TRP. Which one is better

You need to live for 20 more months but until March 2023, not June 2023.
TRV and if denied then TRP.

Thanks but my PR card is valid till June 2023 so will it not be till then ?

No, your residency obligations start from the day you land, so 5 years from March 2018. Your PR card expiry date is irrelevant to your RO.
Ok thanks what’s the RO by the way ?
and like I lived 5 months after landing so you mean I only have to live more than 19 months to fill my acceptrance/ renewal for PR ? Right

Th
RO=Residency obligations
Correct.
thanks much brother for taking out time to reply my silly queries. I am mostly concerned about my new born else I need to leave him/her with my wife till gets PR. Hopefully TRV/TRP will suffice.

Oh sry about that.. just saw your name mam.. .. have a good day mam..

you must have lived 2 years in the past five years at the time of application to renew PR Card. Let say. you arrive here in 2021....you still have two more years to renew PR card. If you come here in 2023, wait for two years and then apply for PR card, however you cannot travel until you get your new PR card.
