Hey, so with the news of Ontario, excluding GTA, entering stage 3 of lock down( almost every business will open with a max of 50 indoor gathering) Do you think that could affect course delivery for the fall term?
If bars and theaters are open, why not universities and colleges which are more essential.
Please share your thoughts and plans for traveling for fall semester.

In my opinion we are opening too soon and are going to see a spike of cases again. US border closure has been extended to end of August too.

Universities have already made the decision about how courses are going to be delivered in the fall. They aren't going to change that. It would make no sense to change.

Hopefully that doesn't happen.. if Winter '21 is online as well, it will be disastrous

I am really hoping as well.

I worry we are taking things too casually. Way too many people out without masks these days.

The U.S. took things too casually and look at the mess there now. Really hoping we don't end up there.

I think most universities have already announced that fall will happen online and in some cases hybrid. Canada has been taking things slow in reopening things and I think they are doing a good job. Let's hope things at least get open up for the winter term

Exactly...and what if the Jan - April term is asked online?

That means, according to CBSA, travel at the end of December / Jan beginning is also going to be NON ESSENTIAL ( as they say it's non essential to travel in September if classes are online )

Then, what'll happen to those who have started the program at home in September but again are unable to travel in Jan due to online classes and the non essential thing?

Then it may exceed the 50% limit till when we can study from home, which leads to in eligibility of PGWP.

We can only hope that cases come down and it will be safe enough to open universities again. If bars, restaurants and movie theatres are open to 50+people then I don't see the logic in not having universities open (if class size is 50 and under)

Spending +8 hours per day on the computer for classes and coursework is just not healthy :(

Exactly! Plus my class consists of just 22 people and it's still going to be held fully online for the fall :(

I really don't understand why universities have to operate online if bars, restaurants and movie theatres can open. Baffling to say the least.

I know a lot of people have it bad right now, I'm quite fortunate but still having everything done online, there is a sense of being 'trapped' with you're getting piled with work. Just my little rant.
